Happy New Year Sassy Peeps!

Last week I had the pleasure of testing out the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander, and I consider this review to be a very strong and successful finish for 2016. Why you might ask? Well for one, I am extremely impressed with all of the noticeable upgrades, and two, this vehicle made it easy to give back.

Noticeable Upgrades:

I tested out the 2015 a while back, and I can definitely tell that Mitsubishi listened to consumers’ suggestions when going back in the lab. The upgrades that stood out to me most were:

  1. The stylish and sophisticated interior.
  2. The rear view camera on this year’s model was a lot clearer.
  3. 7.0″ Smartphone Link Display Audio System with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™
  4. The crisp, clear sound of the Rockford-Fosgate® premium audio system. This brand was in the 2015. However, it seemed even more crisp and clear this go around. LOL! I don’t know maybe it’s me, and I just love Rockford.

2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Makes It Easy To Give Back:

As far back as I can remember I have always wanted to volunteer during the holidays. However, something always seemed to get in the way. So, when my mom asked me if I wanted to help feed the homeless this year I immediately said yes. My mom and a few of her church buddies feed the homeless in the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami every Saturday. They have been doing this for years now, and I have to say, I am proud and impressed by their willingness and drive to do this every week.

The food, water and containers are donated by local businesses, such as Publix, smaller establishments and church members. The process is usually started on Thursday or Friday. They go pick up everything needed and then start preparing the food. Once everything is cooked and neatly packed they are on their way to go “serve”. My mom usually drives, but since I was testing out the Mitsubishi, I decided it would be best if I drive and she hand out the food.

It was amazing, because most, if not all of them seem to know and recognize her. They were so grateful, and I can see they really appreciated the food and our time. There were many times they would shout out, “Thank you Jesus!” It really touched my heart and I will be helping them again very soon The Mitsubishi made serving easy and smooth because:

  • The user-friendly hands-free liftgate is a pure gem. It made things so easy when loading and removing boxes from the vehicle.
  • There is tons of room in the vehicle making it each to add the boxes of food and any other necessities.
  • The Rear View Camera came in handy. It helped to ensure that I wouldn’t hit anything or anyone.

This stylish, yet low key SUV comes equipped with a 2.4L, MIVEC SOHC 16-VALVE 4-cylinder Engine. The vehicle gets 25 mpg city and 30 mpg highway (27 combined) and 3.7 gallons per 100 miles (You SAVE cost $250.00 in fuel cost over a 5 year period). Annual Fuel Cost: $1350.00.

A few additional features include:

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) system5 utilizes both laser radar and camera technology, Multi View Camera System, Rear Cross Traffic Alert system, Blind Spot Warning and Lane Change Assist, Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system, All-Wheel Control, Paddle shifters, Third-row seating (seats 7), front windshield wiper de-icer helps keep wiper blades from freezing onto the windshield in cold and wet environments, FAST-Key system, one touch on the start/stop button with your foot on the brake is all it takes to start and stop the engine.

The Mitsubishi comes in four trim levels—ES, SE, SELGT 3.0 S-AWC. Starting MSRP price: of $23,459.00, price tested: $30,390.00.

  • Stylish and low key
  • Large interior
  • Smooth ride
  • 7.0″ Smartphone Link Display Audio System with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™
  • Exceptional sound system (710-watt Rockford-Fosgate® premium audio system with 9 speakers)
  • Hands-Free liftgate
  • Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring

  • Slow acceleration (4 cylinder). It took a couple of seconds to recover, but once it did it was great.
  • Third-row seat is quite cramped. Although, I found it came in handy when needing to store additional shopping bags and boxes of food when delivering to the homeless.

My overall experience with the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander was simply wonderful! I absolutely love that this vehicle is stylish and chic, yet low key. I also love all of the new upgrades, such as the 7″ touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the crisp/clear sound system and the sophistication of the interior. Very nicely done Mitsubishi! Great job!

  1. A hands free lift gate would be everything to me. That car looks almost as stylish as you!! That is really cool that you could shuttle your mom while she handed out the holiday meals. I’m going to add my own Praise Jesus!!

    1. Amen! Thank you so much for the awesome comment!

  2. The Mitsubishi Outlander is certainly a beauty! I’m so impressed by your mom and her friends and what they are doing to help the homeless in the Miami area. It warms my heart to know that they are out there every Saturday feeding the homeless. God bless them all!

    1. Yes. I do love the vehicle. Yes. I am so proud of their dedication. Amen!!!! xoxoxo

  3. Wow, what an amazing vehicle. I love it. All the features are fantastic.

  4. The Outlander has always been a great car. Sharp looking with some great add bonus features.

  5. I’ve had a couple of Mitsubishi’s in my life. I love their brand! I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Outlander and when I’m in the market to buy my RV, I plan to look further into the Outlander as a possibility to tow my RV. Thanks for sharing!

  6. I’m sure your mom appreciated the stylish and comfortable ride as she helped the homeless. That is so wonderful of both of you to give so much of your time.
I can’t help but think of Scotland and time travel every time I hear the name of the vehicle though….

  7. I test drove one last year and LOVED it. Such a smooth ride!

  8. This sounds like a great car! I live in downtown Toronto so I don’t have a car, but I’ll have to look into Mitsubishi in more detail if I ever move somewhere without public transit.

  9. This looks like a really top-notch vehicle. We are in the market for a new car in the near future. I will keep this one in mind.

  10. A: I LOVE the work your mom is doing to help those who are less fortunate!

  11. That car has a lot of nice features. I like the wiper defreezer thing.

  12. The Outlander looks like a cute little SUV! We need more space for our larger family, but it looks nice! But it really should be a 6 cylinder for that size car!

  13. Wow, what a gorgeous car! And I’m really loving the 25 mpg in the city, since I do so much city driving and I think I get a dismal 12-15 mpg right now!

I love Mitsubishi cars, especially the Outlander! It has so many great features, and looks like it is very spacious, too!
I also love that you help volunteer! We try to do the same at least once a year.

  16. This seems like such a nice car. The improved tech features make it a really good practical pick and the extra room is always handy.

  17. Always great when companies listen and make improvements on every new model. A clear review camera is a “mist have” for me now, but I am always surprised at the variation in quality that is out there. Glad to hear they have improved the one they use in the outlander.

  18. Mitsubishi has always made nice cars in my opinion. They have only improved since they came out. This is just another addition to their great lineup.

  19. What a gorgeous car. I love the wheels. That car looks good on you!

  20. Between the wiper defreezer and the hands free lift gate I am all over this car! We are in the market for one and I definitely am going to be Checking this one out!

  21. What a gorgeous car and a fab outfit to match it. I love the idea of a touch screen.

  22. Oh I loved the OUtlander when I test drove it! So many great features and it drove like a dream!
