Hey Makeup Beauties!

You guys probably already know all about the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder and the Cult she has established with this product! I have been hearing about it for awhile now and didn’t realize why until recently, when I tried their NEW sister, Medium Deep.

I am not gonna lie, I was both leary and excited about trying this product. Excited because I keep hearing how amazing her powders are from everyone, including my darker tone gal pals. Leary for two reasons. One, because when it comes to deeper tones it is really hard to find a translucent powder that doesn’t make me look Casper the Friendly Ghost. Two, Simply because I have heard it so many times before. The color will match your skin perfect. I know the perfect setting powder for your skin tone…blah blah blah, and once I try it, well you know story. However, let me break it down for you in an equation.

White powder/light powder + dark skin = ashiness (EEEKKK)!

Check out just what I mean below. Yep! Me in the back looking all GHOST LIKE! OMG! I really needed a no-flashback formula here! HA!

❤️ these girls! We had such a great time last night! #mirassou #sitsgirls #wine #miami #bloggerlife

When I first saw this pic I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, but at THAT VERY moment I knew I needed to figure out how I could make a change for the better. That is when I got serious about my skincare and trying new products that fit my skin type/tone. Don’t get me wrong it has been and still is a journey, but things are definitely improving.

So although annoyed and frustrated with my previous results I decided to go ahead and give it a try and boy am I happy I did.

My opinion of the product:

  • Medium Deep is IDEAL/PERFECT for medium-deep to the deepest skin tones.
  • It has an amazing matte finish with a touch of sheer coverage.
  • Wore it for about 5 hours and I didn’t look shiny or ashy.
  • Does not cake (Non-cakey).
  • Laura Mercier is BRILLIANT!
  • 1 – 10 rating. 10 being the highest! 10+! Finally a powder for ME!!!
Translucent Loose Setting Powder

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder contains the finest French cashmere talc, which results in sheer, silky powder that looks and feels natural. It also contains a unique light-reflecting ingredient that creates a soft-focus appearance on your skin, minimizing the visibility of fine lines and imperfections. This no-flashback formula means you’ll look great in photos, and it creates a soft-focus effect to subtly blur the look of fine lines and imperfections. It will not settle into fine lines or pores and never looks cakey.

How to use: Dip your powder puff (sold separately) in the powder and then massage the powder in the puff. Remove excess by tapping the puff on top of your skin. Use a rolling motion to work the powder into your skin.

  1. You look so beautiful! That powder is great stuff.

  2. That looks like a great product. The colour looks so natural on you!!

  3. I’ve never heard of this brand so I definitely have to check it out. I have lighter skin but I’m betting they also have ones that I can use. You look beautiful.

  4. As a dude, I’m not really up on the whole makeup thing, but it does make sense to me that having dark skin and using a powder made for light skin would not be the best way to go.

  5. I use this product everyday! My friend uses it and after trying hers one day, I had to go get it.

  6. Laura Mercier is good stuff! I need to try this powder! I love the other makeup from this line I have tried.

I would love to try Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I have been looking for something lighter to try. My current powder is to heavy and settles in to my fine lines.

  8. Ohh Laura Mercier has a translucent powder?! Yes, yes and yes! I have always loved Laura Mercier products so I’ll have to pick this up.

  11. I am not into makeup, but my daughter loves trying out new things. She’ll love this for sure.

  12. Glad to see that you love it. I already planned on buying it because I havent heard anything bad about it neither.

  13. This looks like a great product. Now I just need to learn how to apply makeup properly. lol

  14. I know finding makeup products for darker skin can be so hard. It’s nice they have a translucent powder available now. Surprisingly, I have the lightest skin and find it equally hard to find anything light enough for me. Everything always is darker than my paleness, lol. .

  15. I wish I knew more about makeup. I see all the powders and I get lost. I do wear blush every now and then. Is this the same as loose Powder?

  16. Love her products! However, is it wrong that I didn’t even know they had colored setting powders?!

  20. My powder is running out. This one is one I nee to look into.

  21. You look gorgeous! That’s great is doesn’t cake and it lasts for 5 hours!

  22. I really want to try this powder since I’ve heard nothing but good things about it! It’s definitely going to be the next setting powder I purchase after I’ve run out of the one I’m using now.

  23. This is hands down the best setting powder there is! I always stock up on it on a Sephora run. It’s so worth the price too!

  24. It’s good to know that they’re powders for dark skin tones. I’m on the light side and black opal annoys me with their limited selection. Even though I love them, i wish they’d just make a wider spectrum. This looks like it’s good for dark skin. yay!

Although I am not a fan of the new foundations I have to say this setting powder is an absolute MUST HAVE for me! This and the Caviar Sticks are total winners! Still want you to bring back the old Silk Creme Foundation in all it’s wonderful glory!

  40. I din’t know about this product but looks amazing on you I have to try it too.

  41. I have tried Laura Mercier products before but years ago. I’m definitely going to check out this setting powder, asa I love a good one!

  42. I love loose powders as opposed to liquid foundations. Looks like this worked well for you!

  43. My friends with darker skin always complain how most of the make up brands out there focus on white women – good to see there’s some who realise that there are other skin tones than just white!

  44. I’ve always wanted to try Laura Mercier products. I’ve heard so many great things but always forget. Thanks for reminding me!

Initially when I heard the hype of the original shades, I wasn’t really buying it so I didn’t hop on the “favorite train” but when the medium deep came out … I just knew that I had to try it out. When I tell you this product is GREAT! I love it and if it’s the same formula as the other, I can see why it’s so well liked.

  46. Im not a big fan of loose powder since it does nothing for me and my imperfections, but you look fab!
