Hey Sassy Peeps,
Most of you guys know ALL about my food intolerance issues and struggle with breakouts. Trust me when I tell you that it is SO ANNOYING! And as we all are quickly learning, being a digital influencer is not easy. There are a lot of things that come along with this role. As soon as you assume this title, you instantly become a writer, location scout, photographer, videographer, tech expert and so much more. Yep, everything I mentioned is totally behind the scenes, but in most cases, you are also the model and spokesperson for your brand. So imagine having new breakouts 90% of the time when you are preparing for a photo shoot or when there is an event coming up! #Ugh!
The Struggle Is Real!
When people say the struggle is real…Honey I am here to tell you that IT REALLY IS!!!! I have been dealing with this since I was twelve and am totally over it! Yes, for the past year or so I have cut out several foods that trigger breakouts which includes dairy and soy, but I am still getting bumps and dry patches on my face and back.
So when the opportunity came about to actually get tested for food intolerances, I was all over it! Simply because I am ready to find out what is really going on with me internally.
I dropped my @yorktestlabs food intolerance test off at the post office about fours weeks ago and last week I received my results via email. I was so excited, however, after clicking on the link and seeing what the results were I started to cry. 🙁

Losing My Mind
OK…So here is what made me lose my mind for two days…
York Test Laboratories SAY WHAT?!?!?!?!?! 19 Reaction and borderline ingredients!!!!!!
Woo. I am tearing up just writing this post! The good thing is that before receiving the results I had cut out a lot of the things listed above just based on trial and error. However, the few things that I was still consuming on a daily basis were eggs and almonds (two of my faves). Hence the tears!
Understanding My Food Intolerance Results
- Always check ingredient labels – if in doubt, don’t eat or drink it
- Get as much advice as possible
- Do not go without meals or fluids Drink plenty of water
- Vary your diet as much as possible
- Be strict, it is the only way you know it will work It may not be forever – many people are able to reintroduce foods and drinks eventually
- Go for basic ingredients that are not processed or refined
- Make sure you speak to one of our Nutritional Therapists who can advise on how to keep your elimination diet nutritious – This is extremely important
On A Positive Note
Based on Yorks latest customer survey, 89% of customers saw an improvement in their symptoms within a month of removing their problem foods, which is totally awesome.
After several prayers to the father above my attitude now is “at least I know and can move forward to clear my skin completely”! Amen! If I hadn’t heard those three words (“Now you know”) from him when I was going through it I might be in the corner in a fetal position. HA!
So Sassy Peeps stay tuned! I have a nutritional therapist consultation next week and I am going to update you on my results. Also, do you have any food intolerances! Inquiring minds would love to know!
