Disclosure: The 2019 Nissan LEAF PLUS/Fandango Tkts were provided to me for testing purposes and editorial consideration. All opinions are 100% my own*
Hey Sassy Peeps,
The last time I drove an electric car was about three years ago and I was kinda on the fence. Don’t get me wrong I really liked the car. However, I didn’t like that it only went 93 miles before needing to plug-in. I felt like I was charging more than I was driving.
Now let’s fast forward this thing a bit…
When I was presented with the opportunity of testing out the 2019 Nissan LEAF PLUS to assist in the promotion of the movie Stuber, which is hilarious I might add, I immediately said yes. Needless to say, I was definitely excited to see what’s new in the electric world.
After I said yes, I had a few questions, such as: The 2019 Nissan Leaf’s range, what audio system does the vehicle come equipped with, what does the Leaf actually look like and what is the price of the vehicle? 🙂
Since I am a self-proclaimed Google queen (I Google everything), I immediately grabbed my phone to find out.
Here’s what I found…
- Definitely intelligent and cute
- Audio System:
- Bose Energy Efficient Series Premium Audio System
- 2019 Nissan LEAF Range:
- Nissan LEAF PLUS: Up to 226 Mile EPA Range (62 kWh battery for 214 HP)
- Nissan LEAF: Up to 150 Miles EPA Range (40 kWh battery for 147 HP)
- Nissan LEAF PLUS: Starting MSRP – $36,5502.00 (Some may qualify for the Federal tax credit on qualified Nissan LEAF)
- Nissan LEAF: Starting MSRP – $29,990.00 ( As low as $22,490.00 after potential Federal tax credit on qualified Nissan LEAF)

Fort Lauderdale Shenanigans
Shortly after the electric cutie arrived I headed to meet my girl, Lucy, for our bi-weekly Fort Lauderdale shenanigans.
Every couple of weeks we meet and work on our blogging biz, explore different coffee shops and just have a good time.
On this particular day, we ran across two cool shops called Circle House Coffee and Leaves and Roots Lounge. Both were great, but our fave was Leaves and Roots. They have very we want and need to be as productive as possible during our meetups, like good veggie snacks, tons of plugs, free Wi-Fi and it’s very spacious/artsy.

After a few days of hitting the streets of Sofla, it was time for a charge. So I decided to google places to charge electric vehicles in FL. Boy was I surprised at the amount of charging outlets available nationwide.
Now to be honest I used the COMPLETELY FREE charging station at FAU a few years ago. However, I was looking for something a little closer and a lot cozier. I was pleased when I discovered that Clive Daniel, an upscale furniture store in Boca Raton, has a COMPLETELY FREE station, in addition to a cute little sitting area for you to chill, read or whatever tickles your fancy. I personally was on the phone the entire time. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How to use: I just pulled right up to the station, opened the vehicle lever, removed the handle from the charging device and plugged it in, and in a matter of seconds, the vehicle was charging. I knew it was charging because of an indicator inside the vehicle and also the charging device lights up when the charging process is in session. #SuperUserFriendly!

Note: In MOST cases the faster the charge the more expensive the fees. Some stations charge by kilowatts and others by the session. The free stations charge a lot slower than paid stations. This is why I never let the car get lower than 150 miles of driving time, and if I were to, I found a place that I was comfortable leaving the car for a few hours and could walk home.

OK Ya’ll, if you haven’t seen Stuber, please go check it out! It is HILARIOUS! My friend and I laughed the entire time! Like we literally LOL’ed!
Stu (Kumail Nanjiani) the mild-mannered Uber driver and the cop (Dave Bautista) were great together. I loved their energy and how I was able to see each of their characters grow mentally throughout the show! It was always funny and cool to see the LEAF holding things down on the big screen!
You have to go check it out! You can grab your tickets at Fandango.com!
