Are you thinking about getting cosmetic procedures? Keep reading for things you may not know…
We’ve all heard about breast implants, lip injections, liposuctions and the occasional Botox injections to iron out those stubborn wrinkles. In fact, these are some of the most popular cosmetic procedures regularly performed by plastic surgeons in the United States. Our society has these insane ideals both for men and women, so it’s not that surprising that more and more young people choose to go under the knife in order to fix their insecurities and help themselves feel better and more comfortable in their own skin. However, living in a society that dictates what an ideal body should look like has resulted in a lot of insecurities, some of which people are trying to mend with procedures most of us haven’t even heard about.
Dimpleplasty represents the latest and greatest trend in facial contouring surgery. This minimally invasive technique provides people with permanent dimples on their chin and cheeks, depending on where they want them. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and lasts around 30 minutes, during which the surgeon will pass a suture through your bottom lip or inside your cheek and tighten it to give you that dimpled look. Unlike Botox and dissolvable fillers, this surgical procedure is permanent and can lead to dimples showing even when you’re not smiling, at least during the first couple of weeks during your recovery.
Labiaplasty or more widely known as vaginal rejuvenation is a procedure used to reduce the length and size of the labia minora or the inner lips so they don’t protrude below the labia majora or the outer lips of the vagina. Some of the reasons behind this type of surgery are aesthetic in nature such as reducing the asymmetry and making them the exact same length, while others include pain from tugging and twisting during exercise, riding a bike or during intercourse. Women who experience irritation and pain in their inner lips on a daily level should never hesitate to look up a professional surgeon specialized in performing labiaplasty, regardless of their age and status.
While the first two procedures might be appealing mostly to women, abdominal etching is a procedure generally reserved for men. Hard work and dedication can give you the perfect six-pack, but in this day and age, hard-working men rarely have the time to commit to the painstaking process that is ab sculpting. Fortunately, the average Joe can have that ideal six-pack in a matter of hours as the surgeon removes the excess fat found along the abdominal lines and sculpts it into the perfect abs. Just have in mind that the results take anywhere from three to six months to become fully apparent.
Whether your belly button is an innie or an outie is far from being important for the majority of people. But for some, it’s the difference between taking their shirt off on a crowded beach and enjoying the sun without feeling self-conscious. Luckily for them, umbilicoplasty is a procedure used to reshape your belly button and while it only takes around 15-20 minutes to complete, belly buttons are in the center of our cores which makes the recovery period somewhat long and painful.
By far, the craziest sounding procedure on this list, vampire facelift is a cosmetic procedure that involves taking your blood, isolating the PRP or platelet-rich plasma and re-injecting it back into your face in order to straighten out the wrinkles and give you that youthful look. Platelets are rich in growth factors and their healing properties will help further boost your immune system. The entire operation lasts around two hours, and over time, patients are expected to see 10-15% increase in face volume.
Whether you want deeper dimples, the perfect six-pack abs, the cutest belly button or you’re too self-conscious about your private region, there are cosmetic procedures that can help take care of any little thing you imagine. Although some of them are required due to medical reasons, others are simply cosmetic and might require more careful thought and consideration before placing yourself under the knife. That said, if it doesn’t hurt you in any way and only helps you feel better about yourself and love yourself more, then by all means, make yourself the person you always wanted to be.
Sassy Peeps, what cosmetic procedures have you gotten or are interested in getting? Inquiring minds want to know.
