Where’s my gas tank?
When I borrow a friend’s vehicle, drive a rental or even become the designated driver of another person’s car, the last thing on my mind is the location of the gas tank! That question doesn’t seem to come up until it’s actually time to gas up. Now, I know I am not the only one who thinks like this, because when I pull up to a gas station, nine times out of ten I see at least one person checking their mirrors or sticking their head out the window to see where the tank is located. If those don’t do the trick, they get out to check! Ugh!!
Although annoying, those aren’t the worse things that can happen. What about when you pull up to the the pump without thinking and the tank is on the other side. Double Ugh!!!!!! Been there, done that and it totally sucks!
Well never fear, Sassy Gal is here!
I was totally all those peeps I referenced above, until one day a gal pal and I were hanging out and I needed gas. I was driving a loaner, and I made a statement that I didn’t know where the gas tank was located. She nonchalantly told me to look at the dashboard fuel gauge, and then pointed to the picture of a gas pump with a little arrow. She then informed me that whichever way the arrow is pointing is the side where the tank is located.
Now You’ll, I sat there in a state of shock for about two minutes. Simply because after test driving all these cars you would think I would have known or even paid attention enough to ask what the picture meant. Well my friends, you learn something new everyday, because that was news to me! LOL!
So the next time the infamous question comes up, “What side is the gas tank on?” just look at the dashboard, locate the picture of the gas pump, and whichever way the arrow points, voila…that is the side you will find the tank. Just too dang easy!!!!!!
So Sassy Peeps, Did you know there was a picture of a gas tank on the dashboard fuel gauge? I am still baffled that it took me this long to learn! LOL!
Have A Happy Healthy, and Remember to Always…Stay Sassy
And those without an arrow, it’s whatever side the pump handle is on.
From my understanding, they all have an arrow locating which side the tank is on.
Haha!!! Too funny! That’s definitely a helpful little tip. I told a few friends about this, and they were absolutely appalled. That mini arrow is such a nonchalant way of telling the driver where the fuel tank is located… Hence why so many people often times forget it (or have just never noticed it before). Lol! Great article, Dawn! 👍🏼🙌🏽💯
