I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday!!!! I had a great time with friends and family, but the entire day I kept dreaming about my recent trip to San Francisco.A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the Further with Ford Conference, to learn about their Smart Mobility plans for 2015. This was my first time in San Fran so I was super excited. The city is legendary in my family and based on the stories my aunt and uncle used to tell it is a privilege to visit. Initially when I received the invite I called my aunt ASAP and told her the good news. They were extremely happy that someone would be able to finally relate to their stories when becoming nostalgic.
Hello Sassy Peeps!
Upon arrival there were two Ford Representatives waiting to greet Sara and me, another media influencer. We became fast friends, and since we had a few hours to kill, we decided to hit the pavement before dinner to explore as much of the city as possible. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that our hotel, The Grand Hyatt, is located directly across from Union Square and only one block away from the trolley. After checking in, we dropped off our luggage and met downstairs to start our adventure. As we made our way to the trolley we decided our first stop would be Fisherman’s Wharf. A few minutes after boarding, we both started to laugh. It was really amusing that we hadn’t been in town more than 2 hours, and was already on a trolley heading to one of the biggest tourist attractions in San Francisco. Talk about determined! LOL!
I have to admit the entire experience was simply amazing. Hanging off the side of the trolley with the wind in our faces, and chatting with other tourist was just as exciting as scrolling around Fisherman’s Wharf snapping hundreds of photos. We were so caught up in the moment that time got away from us, so we decided to take a Cabrio Taxi Pedicab back to the hotel instead of going with a traditional cab. Our plan was to get a better feel of the city while heading in for dinner. I am happy to say that it worked. 🙂
The conference was broken out into three parts: Trend Discussions, In the Labs and Behind the Wheel. On the second day we headed to Palo Alto, California for the Trend Discussions and to go In The labs. I learned so much that day! Getting the inside scoop on the Ford Tends for 2015 and then to learn how Pashon Murray, Co-Founder of Detroit Dirt, Alexis Ohanian, Co-Founder of Reddit, Sophia Amoruso, Founder and Creative Director of Nasty Gal and Susan Paley, Beats by Dre, created awareness and built their thriving empires was quiet remarkable.
On our last day, my partner, William Vega (The Other PTA) and I got the opportunity to drive three of Ford’s iconic models! The sleek and sexy Ford Edge, the tough, yet smooth and luxurious F150 and last but not least the super sassy Focus. We had the time of our lives! Our first choice was the Ford Edge. After picking a color, we quickly jumped in and took to the streets; destination Colt Tower. Once we were done literally driving vertically up the steep hill to our check point, we headed back to Pier 27 to return the crossover and pick up the F150; destination Marina Drive/Alcatraz. Neither my partner nor I wanted to return the heavy duty pickup. It is super smooth and the handles are excellent! We spent way to much time taking cool pics and chatting it up with new friends, so we had to quickly head back. After dropping the F150 off, we grabbed the spunky focus; destination Golden Gate Bridge. I loved driving this car! It is really fast and handles corners very well. When it was time to leave, it was bitter sweet! I wanted to get back to share everything I learned with my readers, but I was having such an amazing time I didn’t want to say goodbye!
