I am so excited that Independence Day is right around the corner! With its arrival comes BBQ’s, parties, and special events all in honor of the country’s special day. We look forward to this holiday, not just because it’s one less day in the work week, but because often times we use it as a day of grouping together with family and friends. Not sure if you guys know this, but almost 42 million people travel over 50 miles to celebrate America’s birthday.
We use the 4th of July to enjoy good food, fireworks, and laughs. You may not consider it “good food”, but 150 million hot dogs are consumed over the holiday weekend. It’s an American tradition and a favorite of many children. With so many get together’s and parties taking place you will want to make sure you have everything you need to make the most of the day.
This list will take your family summer extravaganza to the next level!
4th of July Must Haves
American Flag Paper Lanterns
What would the 4th of July be without a little red, white, and blue? The holiday is all about being outside with family, so spicing up the deck or backyard with Paper Lanterns will make the holiday a bit more American. These bad boys are the perfect edition to the basic red, white, and blue table cloths and will help take the party up a notch. They are easy to setup and take down, which makes them the perfect decoration for a laid back celebration.
American Flag Napkin Set
Everyone knows napkins are a necessity when having a barbecue. Accenting your cookout with these fun and trendy American flag napkin sets is an easy way to add in additional patriotic fun, while taking your barbecue to the next level. In addition to being fun they are also environmentally friendly because they can be washed and reused. Don’t forget that they are not only for Independence Day, you can use American flag napkins for several different occasions!
Red, White & Blue Dipped Strawberries
No 4th of July barbecue would be complete without some scrumptious desserts. If you are looking for a somewhat healthier option compared to cookies and ice cream, red, white, and blue dipped strawberries are the perfect treat. Not only are they patriotic looking, but they are simple to make and a great way to take advantage of the low prices that come with strawberry season. They are also a great way to let the little ones get in on the holiday fun.
Skeem Citronella Sea Salt Insect Repellent Candle
When hanging out with the family in the backyard, mosquitoes and insects can be quite annoying. However, no one wants to smell like the topical bug sprays sold in most convenient stores. Not to mention many people don’t like the idea of spraying those products on their skin due to all of the harmful chemicals. Instead why not give your guests the freedom from bugs on the 4th of July by using Skeem’s Citronella Sea Salt Insect Repellent Candles. These soy-based candles can get rid of those unwanted visitors with an 80-hour burn time.
Colorescience Brush-On Sunscreen
Everyone hopes for a beautiful warm sunny day to enjoy the 4th of July festivities, but with them comes the risk of sunburn. Colorescience Brush-On Sunscreen is one of the safest and easiest ways to use sunscreen, and a great option for people with sensitive skin. The Sunforgettable Brush is small enough to keep in your pocket in order to reapply to you or your kids at any time. And, no more trying to pin your children down to spread thick sunscreen on their faces!
Spikeball Yard Game
Once the food settles you need something to keep you busy until the fireworks start. At the moment, Spikeball is one of the most popular yard games on the market. It’s great for the beach, family hangouts and a fun activity with friends. The game is very easy to learn and lets you work off some of those yummy barbecue calories. Anyway, no cookout is complete without a little friendly competition.
Knockaround Star Spangled Shades
If you’re looking for a relatively cheap buy that will have you looking extra stylish on the 4th, these sunglasses will do the trick. With cool blue-tinted lenses and a creative design, these polarized shades are a great buy for the summer holiday.
