*Disclosure: The 2018 Mazda Miata Club (Manual Car) was provided to me for testing purposes and editorial consideration. All opinions are 100% my own*
Hey Sassy Peeps,
I can not tell you how long I have been wanting to learn to drive a manual car! Well guess what? I am happy to report that that day finally arrived when I teamed up with Mazda!
When I presented the idea to the brand, I had no idea that they would be gracious enough to not only provide the SICK 2018 Mazda Miata Club for my use, but that they would send out, Tristan Nunez of #TeamJoest to teach me how to drive the vehicle.
Tristan started out behind the wheel so that I could watch him and also so that I could get comfortable with the process. When it was my turn to actually get behind the wheel I was both excited and nervous. Excited, because I was so ready to prove to myself that I could do it, and nervous because I didn’t want to be that person who couldn’t. I am not sure if that even makes sense, but those were my feelings. LOL!
Let the Dance Begin – Step by Step Instructions
It was great having Tristan there to provided step by step instructions. After he explained the process a few times, and told me that driving a manual car is like doing a dance, my nerves started to fade and all that was left was excitement.
Ready for the Streets
After practicing for awhile, I was ready for the streets. Anxiety showed her nerve-wracking head for a minute, but I kindly pushed her to the side and said “Let’s do this!”
Home Sweet Home!
I was was turning into my driveway and parking the Club before I knew it and all I could say was “Yayyyy Me! Yayyy Tristan! Yayyy Mazda! #Teamwork! The below photos totally show the sweet face of victory!
