Hey Sassy Peeps!
Since starting this blogging journey I have had the pleasure of experiencing cities and states that I have only imagined in my dreams. This brings me to my latest adventure in Charleston, South Carolina! Can I get a super excited and super expressive YAY?!?!
I actually was invited by A Girls Guide To Cars to cover a Volvo Event and as always when I am in a new place I like to take full advantage and explore during my downtime. However, the twist to this travel experience is that my homegirl Beena met me in SC for some much-needed girl time.

I have to be honest, although I have sent many nights dreaming about the beautiful place I didn’t know much about the cool spots and nightlife that the city has to offer. Well, that has definitely changed, because we not only know more about what’s currently happening in the city, we also learned tons about all of its rich history.
Keep reading to check out 5 reasons why you MUST visit Charleston, SC…
1. Hotel Bennett

Hotel Bennett is definitely luxury at its finest! It is the South’s grandest new luxury hotel and is located on the amazing and iconic King Street.
The hotel is elegant and beautiful and the rooms are magical. I swear I wish I could have taken the tub, chandelier and the pillows home. Everything was amazing!
As stated previously, I didn’t know much about the city, but one thing I did know is that I wanted to experience King Street. Now I can cross that off my bucket list because we experienced it over and over again. LOL! We even got the chance to watch a marathon that was taking place over the weekend.
2. Food & Hospitality
During my time in Charleston, I experienced several different foods. Everything from seafood to gourmet burgers and I have never been to a city where EVERYTHING I ate was extremely delicious! I kid you not, even the bed of greens that my burger came on was seasoned to perfection.
Additionally, Beena and I were extremely impressed by not only the hospitality of everyone at the Hotel Bennett but of the entire city. I totally see why it is considered the country’s most beloved city.

3. Charleston Historic Harbor Cruise

We didn’t learn about the Charleston Harbor Cruise until we arrived. Actually one of my colleagues told us about the cruise and I have to tell you guys that it was 90 minutes of beauty and relaxation. While on the 1920s-Bay-Steamer-replica yacht we had an opportunity to experience Charleson from a different view and it is simply amazing. Additionally, we had a chance to view the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge from all different angles… which is pretty epic.

There is so much rich history in Charleston! We had a blast rolling through the historic district in the Volvo S60. When we stumbled upon the Calhoun Mansion I had to great a pic. It was somewhat surreal!
We didn’t have time, but if you are ever in the city, please take the Charleston Civil war tour. I heard that it’s great!

5. Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

One other place that we found to be totally breathtaking is the Magnolia Plantation and Garden. It has been selected as one of “America’s Most Beautiful Gardens” (Travel + Leisure Magazine), and is the only garden honored with this distinction in the State of South Carolina!
Is the oldest public tourist site in the Lowcountry and is absolutely beautiful. I am just sad we didn’t get a chance to take more pics to show you, but about five minutes after we arrived it started to rain really hard. Talk about a bummer. 🙁
